Some iPhone 6/6 Plus owners have been reporting for a while that certain apps are crashing on their phones without any apparent reason. Suddenly, their iPhones go into the boot loop-power off, on. Is there any way to fix it for the better?
Most of the users, who have reported app crashing in their iPhone, have 6 Plus with 64 or 128 GB storage. Just when this issue started to heat up, BusinessKorea.co.kr (that had claimed that Apple would recall the 64 GB and 128 GB iPhones) claimed that it is happening due only to TLC (triple level cell) NAND storage. Anyway, here are some tricks that may fix apps crashing issue on iPhone 6 or 6 Plus.
There are tons of apps being released every day. Though they all come with their specific utility, you have to ensure that your device isn’t jam-packed with hundreds of apps. Getting rid of some of the unnecessary apps can go a long way in sorting it out.
Re-Install The Culprit Apps
If crashing issue has occurred while launching an app, you had better re-install the culprit apps. Redoing it again has the potential to solve it.
Factory reset
Factory resetting can help solve the problem. Why not reset the entire setting of your iOS device in order to have a fresh stance? Though there is no guarantee whether it will resolve the crashing issue or not, it is worth trying.
At times, old settings or specific apps become a huge barrier due to some technical glitches that develop over time.
Software Issue?
Over the air (OTA) update is very simple as it doesn’t involve lengthy steps or a cumbersome workaround to be done. However, it is not the best way to go. As Apple has launched iOS 8.1.1 in order to fix many bugs faced by iOS 8 users, you should make sure you update your software through iTunes. It is more accurate than OTA.
Power down your iPhone For A While
When your iPhone boot loops (power on and off), power it down and leave it for a while. Restart it again. As you know it is man-made technology, there are plenty of technical glitches that automatically develop in the background. As long as it is able to fight against them, it continues to go. The moment the glitches compound up, many weird bugs begin to crop up.
TLC NAND Flash
BusinessKorea.co.kr reported that the crashing issue has happened because of TLC (triple level cell) NAND flash and Apple will introduce MLC (multi level cell) flash cell for 64 GB iPhone 6 and 128 GB iPhone 6 Plus. There is no official word from Apple on this yet. So, it is just a speculation and nothing else.
Even smaller iPhones running iOS 8 have been reported to have apps crashing issue. So all these speculations regarding TLC NAND causing the issue is nothing but a speculation.
